We have decided to make this a ZERO WASTE EVENT, so bring your own snacks, water, etc. and our request is that you not leave any garbage - what you bring leaves with you ! Hope you agree this is an opportunity for us to walk our talk :-)

Please RSVP here.

Plastic bags have become a huge problem for our environment and recently the City of Jersey City has passed legislation that will ban single-use plastic bags starting in the Summer of 2019. While we have some time to get ready to shift gears in the way we live our lives, it would probably be good if more of us were in touch with the facts about why this step is so important. We decided to host this film and discussion event, to provide citizens with a broad context about the importance of recycling plastic items and in particular to generate some momentum for banning single-use plastic bags in Jersey City.

Format for the evening will include some refreshments and then kick off with a presentation by special guest Tim Keating / Earthbilt who has been a long time passionado about all the waste us human beings create on this earth. After we screen the film, we will hear from City Officials about the Single-Use Plastic Bag Ban and the No Straws Campaign, and then we will have some Q&A. We promise it will be a lively and worthwhile evening :-)
