This month's SJC Youth Eco Ambassador topic -

CITIZEN JOURNALIST 101 - HAVE YOUR VOICES HEARD !

  • Learn how to tell stories from your community through video, interviews, and social media.

  • Capture what’s happening on the ground around issues like housing, climate, and public safety.

  • Turn local stories into content that can inform and mobilize.

This includes increased community advocacy and reporting on important grassroots issues. Through this workshop, students will hone their technical skills such as interviewing, fact-checking, and multimedia production. Ultimately, Youth Eco Ambassadors will be able to contribute to regional news and be part of a local reporting network with other students in Jersey City.

Led by Special Guest Ben Dziobek, Executive Director and Founder of (CRAN), join to learn about Policy, CRAN Advocacy Toolkit, and Green Civics. You will learn how climate change policy is shaped and how young people can directly influence it.

Ben leads policy programs that help individuals and organizations build confidence and skills to participate in the public policy process. Ben is a lifelong environmental justice organizer dedicated to building youth power and advancing bold, equitable climate solutions. A proud Stockton University graduate, he’s committed to fighting for a future where communities lead the way on climate action.

We hope to see you there!
